Pass on anything. Haul on Saturdays only if that's what works. It fits around a farm or a day job.
Shippers rate drivers and drivers rate shippers. Do good work and it shows on every bid you send.
An example, straight from the formula: a 12-round haul, 55 km pickup to drop-off, posts at $340. Your fuel and the drive to the pickup come out of that, which is why you're allowed to bid.

Requirements
What you need
- A truck and a hay-capable trailer: gooseneck, bumper pull or deck, set up as a 10-bale unit (10 large rounds, load under 10,000 lb) or a 17-bale unit.
- Insurance that covers hauling for hire. You attest to it. Shippers may ask to see it.
- A licence valid for your combination. Class 5 covers a 2-axle truck and a trailer without air brakes. Air brakes need a Q endorsement. See Alberta’s licence classes.
- Straps, and the know-how to use them. Loads over 4,500 kg fall under the National Safety Code cargo securement standard. See Alberta’s cargo securement rules.
- A mobile phone that gets texts. That's how jobs, bookings and updates reach you.

Who this isn't for
Honest about fit
- No trailer. You need your own truck and a trailer that can take 10 or 17 large rounds. We don't rent or arrange equipment.
- No insurance for hauling. Hauling other people's hay for money is not the same as pulling your own. If your policy doesn't cover it, fix that first.
- Can't strap and tarp safely. A round bale off a trailer on Highway 21 can kill someone. If you're not confident securing a load, this isn't the gig.
- Want guaranteed daily work. There's no dispatcher, no schedule and no minimum. Some weeks there'll be jobs near you and some weeks there won't. It's side work that fits around a farm or a day job.

What drivers ask first
How do I get paid?
The shipper pays you directly: e-transfer, cash or cheque, whatever you two agree on. There's no payment system on the site yet, so there's nothing for us to take a cut of. Settle the payment method before you load.
How much can I make?
We won't make up a number. Every haul shows its estimate before you bid: $125 dispatch + $2.85 per loaded km + $5 a bale, $225 minimum a trip. A 12-round haul over 55 km posts at $340. You can take that or bid what the job's worth to you. The estimate doesn't count your drive to the pickup, so price that in.
Do I have to take every job?
No. You get a text when a haul is posted inside your radius. Take it, bid on it or ignore it. There's no quota and no penalty for passing.
What does approval check?
Admin checks that your profile is complete and your phone number is real (you confirm it with a texted code), and that you've ticked all three attestations: insurance that covers hauling for hire, a licence valid for your truck and trailer, and that you secure loads to Alberta rules. We may call you. We don't run background checks or collect documents in this version, so your ratings do the talking over time.
What licence do I need?
It depends on your unit. In Alberta a Class 5 covers a 2-axle truck towing a trailer without air brakes. Air brakes need a Q endorsement, and 3-axle trucks need Class 3. Check Alberta’s licence classes for your exact setup.
Do I need a Safety Fitness Certificate?
Maybe. Alberta requires one for commercial vehicles registered at 11,794 kg or more operating only in Alberta, and above 4,500 kg for anything leaving the province. A 1-ton and a loaded gooseneck can get close. Check your registered weight against Alberta Transportation’s carrier rules.
What if I can't make a haul I accepted?
Hit “Can't make it” on the job and tell the shipper why. The haul goes back on the board and the shipper gets a text. Life happens, but admin sees every cancellation, and repeat no-shows get profiles paused.
What about super B's?
Not yet. Right now the site is for 10-bale and 17-bale pickup-and-trailer units. Super B is on the list for later.
