The driver is responsible for the load while it's on their trailer, same as any hired hauler. Drivers attest that they carry insurance for hauling for hire, but we don't check the policy and we don't insure loads. If something goes wrong, use “Report a problem” on the haul. Admin talks to both sides and records the outcome, but we can't force a payout. For valuable hay, ask to see the driver's insurance and photograph the bales before loading.

Yes, but here's exactly what that means. Every driver confirms their phone with a texted code, admin reviews the profile by hand, and the driver attests to insurance, a valid licence for their unit, and securing loads to Alberta rules. We don't run background checks, pull driving abstracts or check insurance documents in this version. Ratings from past hauls show on every bid.

Securing the load is the driver's job, and loads over 4,500 kg fall under the National Safety Code cargo securement standard (Alberta’s cargo securement rules). If a load shifts, the driver stops somewhere safe and re-straps. A bale on a highway is a hazard, so call 911 if it's blocking traffic. Afterward, report it on the haul so admin has a record, and it'll show in the driver's ratings.

Large rounds run roughly 700–1,600 lb depending on size and moisture (we use about 1,000 lb as a rule of thumb). Small squares are about 45–120 lb, and large squares about 800–1,400 lb. Full weight table.

A 10-bale unit takes up to 10 large rounds with the load under 10,000 lb, so fewer if the bales are heavy. A 17-bale unit takes up to 17. The estimate splits trips at 17 bales. Details.

Sometimes. Drifted lanes, ice, cold starts and short days all slow things down, and spring thaw brings road bans on many county roads. The estimate doesn't add a winter charge, but drivers may bid higher or ask to move the date. You'll get a text at every status change.

Yes, that's the most common job. Put the pickup pin at the neighbour's stack, make sure the hay's paid for and they know a driver's coming, and say in the notes whether there's a tractor to load.

No. We connect the hay with a trailer. You buy the hay from whoever's selling it, and a driver here moves it.

An estimate from a public formula. The price you pay is whatever you confirm, either the estimate or a driver's bid. If the job's different on the day (more bales, a swamp for a yard), talk to the driver, and report a problem if you can't agree.

The estimate splits trips at 17 bales and multiplies. Twenty rounds is two trips. A driver can take both trips, or you can post two hauls.

Yes: field rows, stackyards or a neighbour's pad. Soft ground after a thaw is the catch, so tick “muddy” and put the approach in the notes.

It's the fastest way. Some drivers have a bale spear or self-loading setup, and some don't. Tick the loading boxes when you post so drivers can bid accordingly.

No. Drivers here run pickups with 10-bale and 17-bale trailers. For semi or super B volumes, a trucking company is the better call.
